Established 1974
Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP) was founded in 1974 by mountain lovers as a non-governmental sports organisation and the national mountaineering & climbing federation, dedicated to promoting mountaineering, climbing, and mountain-related adventure activities in Pakistan.
The Club provides facilities — including training — for mountain and nature lovers to enjoy the boundless beauty of Pakistan's mountains and to take part in healthy adventure: rock, ice, and sport climbing, alongside mountaineering. Since its founding it has launched numerous expeditions to the high mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan and trained a large number of members in climbing, mountaineering, and other mountain pursuits.
ACP is Pakistan's sole representative on the world climbing and mountaineering federation — the Union Internationale des Associations d'Alpinisme (UIAA) — and a founding member of the Union of Asian Alpine Associations (UAAA), maintaining linkages with outward-bound organisations worldwide.
